The rooms were nice however the hotel is not very well laid out in terms of where all the lift stops. The staff was extremely courteous and let us check in at 9 instead of 2 as we had arrived from the ship which was awesome. The breakfast was excellent and the rooms were very comfortable.Plus it was located right in front of the ferry terminal which was very convenient for us.

I thought the staff that dealt with me were very friendly and efficient. I had been concerned about the overall standard of the hotel, as the reviews I read prior to the visit had been poor. However, I was extremely satisfied with the hotel.

Suite was excellent and the food was to die for. The exterior of the hotel could do with updating as very drap and looks just like a council building.

Food was very good, greatly improved on my stay there four years ago. Staff were friendly and helpful, mostly. Overall it is a good hotel, but it is worth shopping around for good rates online as standard rack rates are high (though that is the norm in Shetland).
Staff were helpful but some were inexperienced and it did show at times. When I went to breakfast one morning, the friendly young waiter was too busy chatting to another guest to take my foor order for several mionutes, rather than politely excusing himself from the conversation and attending to his job. Others were inclined to hover when I was finishing my food and swoop to remove my plate when I was still chewing my final mouthful - not the most relaxed eating experience! Still, they were generally friendly and helpful and I would forgive these minor faults.

The spacious double room offered a cozy atmosphere for our stay. The cleanliness of the ensuite impressed us greatly.
Parking spaces seemed limited at peak times.

Ideal for a couple retreat
The breakfast was good, good choice of cooked items and an adequate cold buffet. Our room was comfortable and clean on arrival.
It wasn't inexpensive, but still acceptable.

Staff very friendly, money has been spent on refurbishment. Clean and comfortable
The menu was not great, a lot of fried food. Given it is in Shetland the fish selection was very disappointing.

It was comfortable and frienly, and provided everything I needed.
The only criticism I have is that the decor is a bit dated... which is really not a big problem.
